If you can empty your mind you can give yourself a sense of peace, an emptiness and quiet that allows you to relax.And also to allow space for new ideas to come. Just stopping can have huge benefits to your well-being, and to whatever projects you are working on.

It is wonderful to be free of the chatter in your brain. And another advantage is the additional clarity you get. This can be especially noticeable if you go outside. Just listen to the birdsong and appreciate the beauty and diversity of nature around you.

It’s a great place to be.

So if you don’t already do this, where do you start?

Well, there are different ways to do this and it is worth finding one that works for you.

Some people choose to meditate, or you can just choose to put yourself into that innocent space you experienced when you were a child.

Don’t know how to meditate? There are no rules to this, put simply it’s just about sitting quietly and allowing your mind to become empty.

Its worth noting that successful people put a high value on their time. Often they take a longer term view of things, so that when they look at whether something needs doing they look to see how it fits into the bigger picture before deciding whether to do it or not.

But you will be pleased to hear that managing your time is a skill that can be learnt, you can develop it with practise.

And [...]]]> Phone calls to make, e-mails to answers, quotations to get out, outstanding invoices to chase etc etc!! This is the life of a small business owner. Your day is typically filled with all this ‘routine’ and mundane stuff.

Where is the time to think of new ideas or creative ways of tackling your problems? And yet the benefits of coming up with new ideas or ways of solving problems are numerous, it’s just a case of finding the time. I am a great believer in scheduling some ‘thinking time’ into your day. Here’s what to do.

During the day, on a ‘thinking time’ pad, write down some issues or questions you need to find answers to. Don’t attempt to find solutions now, just park the question and carry on with your work. Take your diary or mentally decide what time you are going to start, and mark out 15 to 20 minutes. You may find you are better first thing in the morning, or you may prefer the afternoon when you find things quieter. It doesn’t matter when as along as you commit yourself.

When the allotted time comes, take the phone off the hook and tell everyone you don’t wish to be disturbed. Once you are relaxed let your mind wander and capture all the great ideas and solutions which will flood your mind. Write your thoughts down as a mindmap, using lots of different colours to really stimulate your brain!

When you get into the habit of taking some thinking time you’ll be amazed at not only the number of new ideas and solutions to problems you’ll come up with, but also how relaxed you’ll feel afterwards.

Go on, don’t just think about it, do it!

Setting deadlines for yourself and writing down your goals makes it easier to go the extra mile. You can see on paper the goal set for that day. Many times you will see that by the end of the day you are very close to meeting your goal. You can now go your extra mile because you know it is only going to take a small amount of extra effort.

Going the extra mile will enable you to reach more of your goals. This allows you to ‘raise the bar’ on your new goals, creating growth in your business. Growth does wonders for your attitude and makes the road to success more enjoyable.

What’s the bottom line on going the extra mile? More signups for your network marketing business. More sales for your infoproduct business. And you’ll get what you want a lot faster when you are willing to do what others are not.

In very simple terms the way to get what you want using the Law of Attraction is through learning to control your thought process. What you think about the most and focus on will be what you attract into your life. So a good starting point is to look at what your predominant thoughts are.

Be aware that negative thoughts produce as much energy as positive thoughts. Thinking about your fears and saying “I don’t want that” is probably going to result in your fears being realized. Cosmic energy is literal. It doesn’t understand “I don’t want”. So if you are constantly worrying about something you don’t want you may well find that it keeps showing up in your life. This is because you are giving it lots of attention.

The Law of Attraction produces results based on energy. So if you’re producing more negative energy than positive, your results are going to be negative.

Training your mind to concentrate on the positive instead of the negative is a necessary, but often difficult process. Many people are naturally worriers. It’s a survival thing designed to help us remember and avoid the dangers of life. But being aware of our fears and letting them control our thoughts are two different things. The key lies in recognising the negative fears and turning them into positive thoughts.Your thoughts can be your faithful servants or your masters, which ever you allow them to be. You are in control, you make your choice and determine which course your thoughts take.

Learning to control your thoughts can be done by learning to identify when fears or negative thoughts come up, and immediately replacing them with an appropriate positive thought.Also repeating positive phrases to yourself. For example “I am fit and healthy” or “I always attract helpful people”.

Repeating these or similar words, and believing them, will make them real. When confronted with fears and doubts, remembering to ‘master” your thoughts keeps the positive energy flowing. Leaving no room for the negative energy to manifest.

Make a list of the reasons why you want to make this difference. Now, make a list of your reasons for not yet having made the difference. Include excuses you have previously made and any possible obstacles you identified.

Now take the time to assess the two lists and make a note of which reasons are the strongest. This will help you decide what to do with this goal.
