Do you find that your head is constantly full of “stuff”? Things you must remember to do, new ideas, worries……….
Would you like a breather from that sometimes?
If you can empty your mind you can give yourself a sense of peace, an emptiness and quiet that allows you to relax. And also to allow space for new ideas to come. Just stopping can have huge benefits to your well-being, and to whatever projects you are working on.
It is wonderful to be free of the chatter in your brain. And another advantage is the additional clarity you get. This can be especially noticeable if you go outside. Just listen to the birdsong and appreciate the beauty and diversity of nature around you.
It’s a great place to be.
So if you don’t already do this, where do you start?
Well, there are different ways to do this and it is worth finding one that works for you.
Some people choose to meditate, or you can just choose to put yourself into that innocent space you experienced when you were a child.
Don’t know how to meditate? There are no rules to this, put simply it’s just about sitting quietly and allowing your mind to become empty.
“Meditation is not a solution of any problem in particular; it solves nothing. It simply helps you to get rid of the mind, the problem-creator. It simply helps you to slip out of the mind like a snake slips out of the old skin. Once you know you are not the mind the great transcendence has happened. Suddenly all problems become insignificant; slowly, slowly they evaporate. You are left with a profound peace; a great silence prevails. This silence is the solution. This peace is the answer, the answer of all answers”. OSHO

Many people say that they want to be wealthy, yet I find that this means many different things to different people.
And then there is the question of riches v wealth. I have heard people say that riches don;t make you happy but wealth does. In this case “riches” means all the material things.
I have also heard the two words used the other way around, and it really doesn’t matter which one you use. The bottom line is what does it means to you, and how do you achieve it?
I do believe that whatever material wealth you achieve, however many houses you own or businesses you run, if that is all you have you will still have a very empty life.
To me wealth is very close to abundance, and this is something we can all tap into. There are no real limitations in this world, only those that we perceive.
And ultimately what we all seek, if we are really honest, is love. In my experience the people who are happiest have an abundance of love in their lives. And when they have that they don’t “need” anything else.
And you know what the good news is? You don’t need anyone else.

If you have ever felt that there is more to life then you might like this book. The Magician’s Way by William Whitecloud is easy to read and written in the form of a story, whilst at the same time introducing lessons in the way of the Magician.
It is a book about connecting to your heart, and what your heart really wants to do (so your purpose if you like)
The story illustrates the concepts and shows how we let our thoughts and feelings rule our lives, and how, if we are not careful, this can block us from true happiness. It also shows how we can very easily make the choice to step away from this and follow our hearts, and illustrates the steps to take.
I have now read this book three times and get something new every time. It’s a great little book
Why not have a look?

So, what were your responses to the last post? I have to say a huge thank you for all the comments, made great reading.
Personally speaking I love hugs. I love to hug and be hugged and can find it quite odd when I’m suddenly in an environment where people are more reserved in their greetings. I guess I am lucky because in most of the circles I move in hugging is commonplace.
In fact I realised at the end of my last relationship that one of the things that was missing for me was hugs, they were pretty rare. Not that hugs are limited to close relationships or friendships, it is certainly becoming more acceptable to hug when you meet someone or say goodbye.
And best of all, did you know that hugs are scientifically proven to be good for you?
Hugging increases oxytocin levels, which not only increases bonding, it reduces stress hormones and blood pressure.
So if your heart doesn’t cry out for hugs, hug for your health!
I think it’s true, hugging does give a deeper connection to a person.Though if you are going to hug, do it properly and from the heart. None of this standing 3 feet away and putting your arms around the other persons shoulders. That is just going through the motions and is very inauthentic. Do you want to come across as a fake? How do you think the other person will feel? It’s the hugging equivalent of a limp handshake!
Yes there are situations when it’s not appropriate, and culture will influence this. Often in a business situation you will not hug when you first meet someone, though often it becomes acceptable once you know each other, though I find many people still don’t due to the environment.
Certainly in a social situation I might not hug a new person hello, but I will hug them goodbye if they are a hug type person.
Go on, go and hug somebody today

Do you like to hug, or be hugged?
Did you know that hugs are good for you?
When did you last hug someone, just because you could?
Do you generally hug people when you meet them, or are you more a shaking hands kind of person?
Are hugs appropriate in all situations?
I would love to hear your thoughts and views, watch out for the next post in a couple of days when I will share my thoughts plus more information.

Last weekend I was at a conference. A very timely reminder of the inspiration you can get from mixing with positive people. If you are in business on your own, even if you have staff, it can be a very lonely place. And whether in business or life in general, when you don’t always see other people regularly it can mean getting despondent sometimes.
One of the best ways to keep yourself positive or upbeat is to mix with positive people, and also to spend less time with those people who always get you down. You know the ones – the people who tell you things will never work, the ones who always feel sorry for themselves, never have a good word to say.
find ways to gently ease out the negative people, and actively seek out the people that you resonate with and who make you feel good when they are around. Remember you can network on the internet as well as in person. There are some great discussion groups around who are hugely supportive of each other. So even if you can’t get out for whatever reason, you can always connect with other like-minded people.

You will no doubt be familiar with Sir John Harvey Jones and his reputation as a respected businessman and advisor. Sir John had an elegant secret for deflecting customer interruptions – whilst still making the customers feel as though they were the most important people in the world!
When Sir John was Chairman of ICI and a customer rang to speak to him, his secretary would explain that, although Sir John was doing something else, he had left strict instructions that, wherever he was, he was to be interrupted if a customer wanted him. Most customers would say: “Don’t bother him now. But ask him to call me when he’s finished.” As a result, Sir John was rarely interrupted, and goodwill was always at an optimum. What’s more, his example helped to convince everybody else at ICI that they too needed to live up to the rhetoric of putting customers first.
It really pays to make other people in your life feel respected and important.
How could you apply this to your own business, or your life in general?

..is a question that easily refocuses your mind. We hear so often that focus creates reality and this is a really quick and easy way to shift your focus.
By asking “What Do I Love?” or “What would I love?” you bring the attention of your mind to that thing.
So whenever you are faced with a dilemma or something not quite going as you would like, take a moment to step back and ask yourself “What Would I Love?”, and go with what comes immediately, don’t “think” about it too much. What pops into your head first will be the true answer.
Once you have this consider it, and how you can act so that you move towards it as your target, your end result.
Even if you don’t know “how” it doesn’t matter, focus on what you really want to happen. This is the first step towards creating the outcome that you want.
And it can apply to any aspect of your life and any situation.

It is important to realise that we can’t really manage time, time itself is fixed, we can only manage how we use the time that is available to us.
Did you know that the average 40 year old man, has 175,000 hours left? That’s it. So every wasted hour is gone, forever, you can never get it back. Its like a snowflake, once gone, its lost forever.
Its worth noting that successful people put a high value on their time. Often they take a longer term view of things, so that when they look at whether something needs doing they look to see how it fits into the bigger picture before deciding whether to do it or not.
But you will be pleased to hear that managing your time is a skill that can be learnt, you can develop it with practise.
If you make a commitment to doing it
Remember it takes 21 days of repetition for something to become a habit, so if you can just get yourself to do a few things differently for 21 days, they will then start to happen automatically.

Here are ten proven ways to change yourself now, and in so doing, change your past and plant the seeds for a brighter future. Study them with the wish to uncover the secrets hidden in their empowering instructions. Practice them and watch how you begin to feel the presence within you of a new kind of power that changes everything – now and forever – for the better.
1. Spend as much time as possible by yourself for the purpose of discovering yourself.
2. Never explain yourself to anyone out of fear they may misjudge you.
3. Always accept a little more responsibility whenever life asks you to.
4. Say “No” to anyone or anything that you fear saying “No” to.
5. Refuse to revisit your own past for a way out of any present problem you face.
6. Learn to see your own defensiveness towards others as an offense against your own right to be free of fear.
7. Whenever possible, realize that the person you are about to argue with is in as much pain as you are.
8. Leave to themselves those who would punish you with word or deed; do not return unkindness in kind.
9. Never accept any negative reaction you may have as the only possible answer to your present challenge.
10. Remember that everything you resist in life increases its weight, so accept all that you can, and quietly drop the rest.
Try just one of these simple transformational exercises sometime today and you will see – immediately – the great power of the wisdom that it wants to share with you. In that same moment, you’ll also see that it’s true: you do have the power to make your wishes come true.
